Maria Island

It is exam period again where i`m studying in the mid night accompanying with the wonderful voice of Olivia Ong. I'm so bored and i`m start missing the 2 weeks life in Australia which is so free, stress-less and unforgettable. Especially Maria Island, the most beautiful land that i had stepped on.

It takes about half an hour of ferry journey from Triabunna, a small little town with great breakfast. The ferry is the only transportation to the island which carries 48 passengers per trip with only 2 trips per day. This policy enable to limit the number of visitors and to preserve the nature environment of the lovely island.

It was a fast changing weather day. Raining for 5 minutes, and the next minute you might able to see a sunny clear sky, or strong wind blowing at 80km/h which can blow you off the ground. Wildlife such as the famous kangaroos, wombat, unknown goose and etc. are all around the island freely. We can meet "them" with zero barrier in case "they" din't run away, because wildlife on the island rarely meets human being. Animal feeding is strictly prohibited, because this is not a zoo.

Other than the wildlife, the scene on any part of the island are stunning. Thanks to the well preserve, no trace of human pollution is found on the island.

I never see skies and seas in such blue colour that might only appears in possessional photographs or post card.

Is time to back into studying.

Wishing the next day when i wake up, i`m at Australia. *dreaming*

Kuantan 2

After a long, tough and tiring semester, finally i`m back into blogging. It is due to the pack schedule with tonnes of assignment and test. Even i had lost track on editing and uploading photos that i had taken.

The following photos are taken on 20.05.2010 at Kampung Berserah, Kuantan, which is a small village famous in producing salted fish. It is also the filming location of a malaysian movie named "Tiger Woohoo".

If you watch the movie, u should familiar with this scene.

Salted fish is nice to eat, but the smells is horrible. So, get near to the salted fish, snap 2-3 photos, then run away~~

Photobook is a very good option to store happy memory in an album form. The quality and the printing service by photobook is superb and i will totally support them if i need any album printing service.

This was the first photobook i had designed. It had taken me for more than 1 week to finish the job. and i`m pretty satisfy with my work.

Super GT 2010

It was the annually Super GT race at Sepang. We can expect to see a lot of crazy super cars racing on the track.

This is the first time I’m entering the Sepang International Circuit podium and pit-stop. It was an extraordinary experience, because we entered this super tight security pit stop area for FREE without kicked out by the guard. Ivan was along with me for this whole adventurous journey. We walk freely on the pit stop and act as media keep taking photo around. It was such an exciting experience to see those super cars so close, even you can touch it if there was no one around.

As usual, people are more interested on the GT Queens more than the Super cars.

Sorry to tell that above photos is taken on the preparation day, not the actual race day, so no GT Queens to shoot.

Kuantan 1 - HDR attempt

HDR stands for High Dynamic Range image which created by merging several picture with different exposure into one by computer software. It was a fun experience learning this skill by myself by referring to magazine and website.

I had chosen a few picture taken at Kuantan for my experiment.

1. Convert 1 RAW file into 7 exposure and merge it.

KL Bird Park & Orchid Garden

This set of shots is taken 3 weeks ago before my final exam with a gang of member from photography club in my uni. I had gone through a toughest moment in my uni life in pass few weeks as my studies are getting harder and harder. But finally it is time to have some good rest and back into blogging again.

This is the first time I had tried to shoot natural so heavily, colourful plants and lively birds. KL Bird Park claims that they are the largest walk-in free-flight aviary in the world. Most of the birds are allowed to fly and walk freely in the park, and you can see their action without any barrier. The birds in park are not strange to human being at all and feeding is allowed in certain zones. The park is big and photographer can spend a whole day shooting various species of birds. The peacocks was so active that day, I saw more than 3 peacocks raises their long beautiful tails to attract a female peacock (known as courtship dance). It might be the peacock breeding season. Orchid garden is located just opposite to the bird park and the entrance is free. Nothing much to describe on the garden..

It was such an enjoyable and fun experience photographing session. Let my photos tells the remaining story on birds and plants.

Putrajaya Hot Air Balloon 2010

The hot air balloon festival was an event that I had anticipated for months.

It was a 4 days festival that held on 18-21 March 2010. Due to different kind of reason, I only manage to join the event on the last day.

The flying site was crowded by people even we (Pearly and me) arrive there on 7 a.m. The reasons people are there so early is queuing for balloon ride and queuing to enter the site for taking photographs. I’m quite interested to take a balloon ride and take photograph from the balloon, but the queue for the few minutes balloon ride was way crazy. So, I better keep my feet on the ground.

Pearly Convocation 2010

After 3 years of hard study in university, finally Pearly had graduated in her degree which is the Bachelor of Science (Hons) Actuarial Science. I’m so proud of her and in the same time I was so jealous on her because had finished her degree but I still have another 1.5 years to go.

The convocation was held at the wisma MCA, KL on 14 March 2010. It was a lousy and awful venue for convocation to be held. Because it doesn’t have any beautiful lawn or gorgeous building to photograph a nice and memorable picture on a graduation gown as this might only happens once in a lifetime like wedding.

Frankly, the ceremony is a long and boring session. It only allow photograph from the seat, so nothing can be done in the hall.

After the ceremony, everywhere is crowded by students, parents and friends, and it was very difficult to take a nice picture without people in the background.

Malacca is one of my favorite visiting spot in Malaysia. This place was full of well preserve heritage buildings and uncountable delicious food. It was a 2 days 1 night trip with Pearly. The main purpose of the trip is nothing other than FOOD, and also to capture some nice photos to share here.

Chinese New Year or also known as Lunar New Year is most important celebration for Chinese. As age grows older, the feeling of looking forward to CNY is become lesser and lesser, it was just like a friends and family reunion festival for me.

This is the 1st CNY tat i`m living with my SLR camera, so it was another chance for me snap around and makes my day more interesting. So, after my CNY eve dinner, i had visited to FGS Dong Zen Temple in Jenjarom, Klang with my family as a yearly habit.

This temple is one of the best decorated temple in Malaysia during CNY.

Ipoh/Penang trip on 01.01.10

On the 1st day of the year 2010, i have joined the 3 days 2 night road trip to Penang with "sprint.inc" gang. We have Mk, Isacc, Ivan and KH along the trip. The main purpose of this trip is seeking for the legendary tasty food. (Fried Kue Tiao @ penang, bean sprout chicken rice @ ipoh and etc.) The foods really satisfy our appetite and it is worthy to travel so far to have it.

Singapore 3 days 2 night trip - Day 3

Third day at Singapore is a shopping day. After check-out from the hotel, we head directly to Orchard Road again. Shopping is not really suit Mk and me, especially shopping with those heavy luggage. So we decided to carry luggage for Pearly so that she can shop "freely"; while Mk and me just wait along the street and have some Photography time.

Singapore 3 days 2 night trip - Day 2

As in our plan, the second day is a "Sentosa Day". It was a difficult task for us to get off the bed after a tiring tour on the first day.

Vivo City (a shopping mall) is our first destination of the day. It is a gorgeous building with a modern architecture which can’t be found in any part of Malaysia. The utilization of the roof top spaces was brilliant. . There are few shallow ponds (for kids), lawn (for sitting or resting if you want) and a big Christmas tree. When we are on the roof top, we can’t even notice ourselves are standing on top of a building. It just makes us feels like we are situated on a recreation park.

Vivo City also links us to the Sentosa Island by monorail. We had chosen to visit Tiger Sky Tower, Fort Siloso, CineBlast and the GoGreen Segway on the ticket counter. Then, we head to the Sentosa Island.

After dinner at Vivo City, we went to Marina Bay. The Downtown of Singapore can be fully observe at this point. It was a comfortable and relaxing experience walking along the Marina Bay by listening the music from the performance stage across the river. As what i had observed, Marina Bay also a popular spot for couples to hangout.

Singapore 3 days 2 night tirp - Day 1

Since long time ago,

Singapore is well known on having a very happening and wonderful Christmas atmosphere. So this year I have make a decision to visit Singapore to experience it. This is the first time I’m leaving my “lovely” country and I was so excited. I know it sounds weird or funny to someone, but it is true that I didn’t visit to any other country before for these 21 years. Pearly, Mk and me was along with the trip, and we will meet Hwee Ping at Singapore

We wake up early in the morning to rush for the 7.30 a.m bus at PuduRaya. Psychologically, it likes a long journey to reach Singapore and feels the bus moving on a “Turtle Speed”. We safely reached our hotel on about 2pm after passing by the rushing custom and get on the wrong bus. Amazingly, the wrong bus brings us to our destination (hotel).

Har Paw Villa is our first stop. It is a place that full of statues no matter Eastern or Western culture statues. The reason we visit this place because the entrance is free. But it was really troublesome to reach; we need MRT, Bus and Walk to reach.

After a tiring walk at Har Paw Villa, we went to the most happening street at Singapore, which is Orchard Road. There is full of shopping malls and retail shops along the street, it is "heaven" for ladies only. The street was crowded by people; Christmas decoration is all over the street; The Christmas atmosphere was awesome.

ION is the newest shopping mall along the street, the architecture of the building is extraordinary.

Last Saturday, I have attended Sony Flash Workshop held at Dorsett Regency Hotel, KL. It is rather to be said as a basic introduction to Sony brand flashes workshop. Basics flash usage and technique were taught in the workshop (no advance technique or special skills). The interesting part of the workshop is the model shooting session. There are two models provided for us to practice our flash controlling technique, but I only manage to shoot one of them. (To be honest, the reason is another model is not “that” pretty.)

Additional notes for those who like to know more about the model:

She is young; I think is younger than 20 y/o.

Usually early Sunday morning I should still on bed having my good dream, but I have trouble myself last week. Early morning on 7 a.m. I have departed from my sweet home heading to Putrajaya to have a photo shooting session with my gf (Pearly). It was a sunny morning and the sun is burning our skin. But we both enjoy it.

Sepang Motor GP 2009

Initially we intent to go Sepang circuit to see some Supercars on the track.. As Ivan said there will be Ferrari, Lamborghini, or Porsche racing in the circuit every Sunday. Haha.

But no luck, we didn’t notice that it was the Motor GP day. When we reach there, the circuit is crowded by people. We are not interested to pay the ticket to watch the race, so we visit to the automobile museum and have a few shot on those show girls.

As in the title, this event is organize by Nikon and they are having photography contest on this fashion show. In front of the stage is crowded by all those Nikon user, i don't even dare to go near and take out my SONY. haha.

So, i choose to shoot from the 1st floor with zoom lens.

Klang, Morib and Bagan Lalang

This set of photos is taken on a 1 day trip with my family during the second day of Hari Raya. The main purpose of this trip is the seafood lunch at Klang. But I don't manage to capture all those seafood, because the food is just too delicious and make me can't get my hand off from the food. After the seafood lunch, we went for some sight seeing around Klang, and we stop at an "unknown name" jetty. The weather is so so so good as u can see in the photos below. After that we also visit to Morib and Bagan Lalang(also known as Sepang Gold Coast). Unfortunately, we reach Bagan Lalang a bit late and can’t manage to capture the nice water villas over there. But the sunset glow is wonderful.

Colourful life

Can someone paint me a colourful life?

Today is the 1st day of my 3 months internship. All the project that done by the company extremely interesting to me. All those project is related to bridges, those big, high and large bridge. They are actually designing for the temporary steel structure that hold the form-works and provided a working platform to construct the bridge. The whole process is called "bridge launching", anyone that interested can search by this keyword. (but i dun think anyone interested on it, lol)
After a whole day of reading documents, calculations and plans, now my mind is fully saturated and trying to absorb what i have read.

Hope that i can learn something that is useful for my future in this 3 months.

Sekinchan is a paddy village which located half an hour drive from Kuala Selangor. I visited this place after having a delicious seafood lunch at Kuala Selangor. Nothing much, only large piece of paddy field attracted me there to take some picture. Picture posted below taken 1.5 months ago.

This is the first time i attend such a big japanese cultural event, the stadium was crowded with peoples. Quite a big number of them are japanese, and their kids are so cute. Cultural dance and drum performance is the 'main course' of this event. There are stalls that selling delicious japanese food that we cannot find in Malaysia. A lot of pro-photographer is here to capture the happening evironment, and i hardly get some to show here. Really a good experience for me.
